PIRATE CUTTHROAT ROBERTS
aka
PIRATE BOB

Capt. Cutthroat Roberts had a good upbringing and was very well mannered. It is rumored that it was his wife's constant nagging that drove him to run away and become a pirate.

He ran from his home around 1717, bought a sloop and rounded up a crew of 70. He didn't know much about piracy, but he carried his good manners with him and became known as the "gentleman pirate." He named his new sloop "Challenger" and set sail with his crew. Though he was greatly lacking in experience, he and his crew plundered several ships as they sailed the Virginia and Carolina coasts.

Soon after these successes, Robert's ship caught sight of none other than the infamous Blackbeard's ship. The two agreed to become allies and oversee the activities of the two ships together.

All of the items for this costume were hand made by me and are one of a kind.

The high quality custom leather belts, baldrics and accessories were all custom crafted by Chuck Dorsett of The Dorsett House in Marietta Georgia.

The firing Flintlock was purchased through Loyalist Arms in Nova Scotia Canada.

I'm glad you like it. Kristen said you were happy when I drew you in the last one, So I got to thinking about making you a bigger part of a drawing. I also always wanted to draw that photo of Kristen with the knife in her teeth. When I got the idea to add you as the foreground figure it all just seemed perfect. Besides, (not trying to sound too weird) you have a cool look. Like your Mrs., you're adaptable. Maybe we can plan some more down the road.

Thanks again and feel free to post it as much as you want. I love the publicity.

Take care -Jay Fife www.jayfife.com
