BARON SOONTIR FEL

181st Imperial Fighter Group

Corellian Baron. Leader of the famed 181st Imperial Fighter Wing who proudly display red blood stripes on their uniforms and TIE Interceptors. Recieved Fighter Ace status in his TIE Interceptor SABER1. Taught at the Imperial Academy on Prefsbelt IV.
Instructed Biggs Darklighter...

These are images of my Baron Soontir Fel TIE Pilot Uniform.

I used the Dark Horse Baron Fel "In The Empires Service" Comic Series to model the pilot uniform.

..................

I used a standard black flightsuit for the base of the costume adding a set of red Imperial Emblems and a red strip down both sides. I colored the white background of the Imperial Emblems with a black Sharpie. I use a gray vest created off of the same pattern as the rebel vest and a set of military suspenders and web belt that the custome made chest box attaches to. The boots are leather East German Officers boots. The gloves are leather custom tailored for me by a friend.

......

The red striped chalk holders were my own idea as was the red silk neck piece and black military beret with Imperial pilot wings. Note the garden hose quick connects on the chest box that the hoses attach to. The chest box was decaled and painted to match the helmet using my VsaderPainter process. There is one single red light on the chest box in the center.

......

I felt the costume needed a little something extra for hanging out after hours at Imperial watering holes. I added the black officer dress gloves and black flight jacket with red Imperial Emblems and blood stripes. I modeled it after the flight jackets that military fighter pilots use today. I use the same Imperial pilots wings and identification badge as on the flight suit and 2 red chalk holders.

I use a Don Post Classic Action TIE Fighter Helmet for the costume. It has been modified by cutting the air vent out in the fron of the "frown" and putting screen behind the holes. The dull helmet was detailed and repainted using my VaderPainter process; clear-coating over all of the decals top give the helemt a smooth-as-glass finish. I installed a hard hat helmet liner and stainless steel nuts and washers on the ear pieces. I replaced the stock bubble lenses with flat tinted lenses and added garden hose quick connects for the hose connectors. This addition of the quick connects can allow the easy removal of the hoses adding a nice touch when removing the helmet.
